Amsterdam
Gay Pride is one of the biggest and gayest Gay and Lesbian festivals in
Europe. In 2009 it's being held from 5th August to 8th August with parties
being held throughout Amsterdam. The city
indulges in a mix of sports, culture and street parties throughout the extended
three-day weekend, the highlight of which is the Canal Parade on
Saturday. Over 75 highly decorated boats float along the canals bursting
with vibrant colours and music in a carnival style procession from 2pm to
6pm. It's not to be missed. But, to be honest, you couldn't
possibly miss it if you tried. The city's
famous bars, cafes and clubs also host a wide range of wild parties (rarrrr)
every night including the White Party at Melkweg on Saturday.
